City of Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich Proclaims May 5-11, 2024 Youth Apprenticeship Week.

Recognizing and celebrating the importance of apprenticeship programs in preparing our youth for successful careers and contributing to the economic vitality of our community."

Congratulations to our entire Northeast Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship team on this well-earned recognition!
Proclamation:
Whereas, the CESA 7 Northeast Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship Consortium, in collaboration with the Greater Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, is dedicated to fostering the growth and development of our region's youth through valuable workplace experiences; and
Whereas, the Youth Apprenticeship Week, observed from May 5th to May 11th, serves as an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the importance of apprenticeship programs in preparing our youth for successful careers and contributing to the economic vitality of our community; and
Whereas, the Northeast Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship Consortium, in partnership with local employers, has facilitated connections for 1280 students, of whom 827 are actively engaged in apprenticeship opportunities within the Greater Green Bay area, providing them with invaluable hands-on experience and skill development; and
Whereas, these apprenticeship programs not only equip students with technical skills but also instill in them essential workplace values such as responsibility, professionalism, and teamwork, laying the foundation for their future success; and
Whereas, the commitment of the Greater Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and the CESA 7 Northeast Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship Consortium to bridging the gap between education and industry is instrumental in building a skilled workforce and sustaining our region's economic growth;
Whereas, it is estimated that Youth Apprenticeship students in Brown County will collectively earn over $5.4 million, contributing significantly to the local economy and reinforcing the importance of investing in our youth;
Now, therefore, be it proclaimed that we, the undersigned, do hereby recognize May 5th to May 11th, 2024, as Youth Apprenticeship Week in Northeast Wisconsin. We commend the efforts of the CESA 7 Northeast Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship Consortium and the Greater Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce in providing meaningful opportunities for our youth, and we encourage all citizens to join in celebrating the achievements of our apprentices and the vital role of apprenticeship programs in shaping the future of our community.
